On 6 August 2008, Paris appeared in 1 minute 50 second video, "Paris Hilton, following the announcement by McCain," directed by Adam McKay and posted on Funny or Die website.
The video of Paris featured in a parody of advertising, and was made in response to a campaign of television advertising "Celeb", broadcast in 11 U.S. states in 2008 by John McCain presidential campaign. In Celeb, McCain briefly compared his rival Barack Obama for celebrities such as Paris and Britney Spears, and goes to the question about his willingness to lead and criticize its energy policy.
In what the Washington Post found "could be his best acting role yet," [35] Hilton seems to wear a swimsuit leopard print [36]. She starts by suggesting that its staff by McCain means it must now be a candidate in the presidential race, and then make fun of McCain, and criticism and qualities expected of a lifestyle in comparison celebity to that of a U.S. president. In 30 second segment, in the style of an academic speaker, Paris compares and contrasts the policies of McCain and Obama to solve the energy crisis of the United States, and then propose a "compromise solution" combining elements of two.
The video has received 7 million views in two days, garnering press coverage in the world and called on both written and verbal response of the two media campaigns. The advantages and disadvantages of the "compromise solution to Paris" with regard to energy policy and its opposition to the clash of political campaigns, have generated many comments from American political commentators, as well as Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the member Michael Burgess.
Continuing the campaign of mystification, in Paris in October featured in a second video parody on Funny or Die, 2 minute 20 second time Paris Hilton Gets Presidential with Martin Sheen, Hollywood actor alongside Martin Sheen, actor with his son Charlie Sheen in a cameo role. Paris, and strongly established in a green evening dress, interviews Martin in a kitchen, to examine the various political problems, seeking advice from his days playing a fictional president on The West Wing.
